Holy hologram. Michael Jackson shut it down when he took the stage at this year's Billboard Music Awards. Welcome back to Clevver's Trophy Life bringing you all the must see moments everyone is talking about this award show season. And yes you heard that correctly, THE King of Pop resurrected... kinda.

This was some jaw-dropping stuff. MJ made history once again as the first holographic image to ever be presented on television. You may remember that Tupac was projected as a hologram at Coachella back in 2012, but this is the first time a hologram has come to us through some white noise. I still have chills. The MJ image performed the new posthumous song, "Slave to the Rhythm," from the latest chart-climbing album, XSCAPE. The anticipation was high as Miley on 420 as the performance kicked off with classic MJ militant back up dancers breakin' it down in front of the stage's dropped curtain. The tension reached a whole other level as the screen/image was finally uncovered, revealing MJ propped on a golden thrown. And rightfully so. When that bundle of pixels moved, I nearly lost my shiz. The hologram snapped, clapped, moonwalked and hip-thrusted all up in through that screen as dancers danced alongside and in the aisles. It also appeared that some of the back up dancers were holograms as well because they were able to interact with the MJ image without the dimensions seeming offset. The audience watched in awe as the MJ clone took the stage and it was clear that everyone was really taken aback by the presentation, some even shedding a few tears. And who could blame them? I was this close to some serious face leakage. The mood was pretty heavy to say the least because this is really the first time we've seen MJ perform on stage in over a decade and especially since his unfortunate death in 2009. When MJ left us he was preparing to slay 50 sold out shows at the O2 arena, but other than in his This is It documentary, we never got to see MJ take the stage again, until now in pixel form. Does anyone else remember the Disney Channel original movie, Pixel Perfect where the lead singer was a hologram? It's crazy that back then the idea of a hologram seemed like something Zenon worthy and now it's been made a reality. We're officially in the future people.
